Reiki for Animals. A gentle, noninvasive type of healing where energy flows through the practitioner to the client by touch or laying on may include relief from pain due to injury or a chronic condition, support for the immune system, and removal of energy blockages to help the body regain balance. It is ideal for animals because they can control the treatment, accepting Reiki in the ways that are most comfortable to them.
Therapeutic Massage. Therapeutic massage helps to assess and maintain wellness, enhances the quality of life, strengthens the body by stimulating muscles, and helps restore range of motion and flexibility. Therapeutic massage can aid in alleviating pain by increasing blood flow. It relieves physical and emotional pain. It can help with behavioral issues such as fear biting, food aggression, separation anxiety due to abandonment, abuse, uncertainty of pack status, and grieving. Therapeutic massage energizes the mind; the animals follows on the inside where the touch is on the outside. It helps older animals cope with stiffness and discomfort that accompany arthritis, and it supports animals in times of crisis, injury, surgery, and grieving. After surgery it can assist the body in releasing toxic effects of anesthetics.
Therapeutic Touch. Every person and animal is an open energy field; when there is a problem, the flow can be reduced, creating congestion and energy blocks. Therapeutic touch can be used as contact or noncontact (as much as several inches above the body) to decongest the blocks and allow the energy to pass through freely again.
Kinesiology. The use of muscle testing to identify problem areas, allergies/sensitivities, and rebalance chakras.
Consultation. Often there are issues with our animal companions. Sometimes, we just need a way to appreciate their view of things and begin to open up a dialog. Mediation and consultation sessions can facilitate this.
Sacred Ceremony for Animals in Transition. Because animals have much shorter life spans than humans, their deaths are often the first we encounter. We also must endure them more frequently, as we usually have multiple animal companions throughout our lives. Death makes no distinction between species, and neither does our love. We can celebrate, mourn, and remember our animal friends, as we do our human ones. Dawn can assist with putting together a sacred ceremony that can allow you to grieve, to heal, and to embody the joy felt when you recall special time spent together ~ a ceremony specifically designed for the life you and your companion shared. Grief support is also available. For more information, please call 845 . 247 . 3949.
EarthSong Healing Arts ESHA is based in Woodstock, New York, in Ulster County. For animal healing sessions she generally drives to you for the optimal comfort of your animal. The animals usually determine the length of the session but can last anywhere from a half hour to one hour. Depending on the animal's needs, from one to all modalities may be used during a session, and the nature of each session may change from time to time, again, depending on the individual's needs.
It is strongly recommended that you commit to enough sessions to give your animal an opportunity to become comfortable with this type of body work. She also travels to your home environment for human sessions.
Please let us know if you have any questions or would like to schedule a session for yourself or for your companion animal.
These services are intended not to replace veterinary care but to be used in a complementary way to enhance the well being of animal companions.
